LGsuper is the super fund for current and former Queensland local government employees and their spouses . Our Board of Directors, and management and staff take care of nearly $6 billion in retirement savings for more than 90,000 Queenslanders. LGsuper has been a complying resident regulated superannuation fund since 1 July 1995 within the meaning of the Superannuation Industry (Supervision) Act 1993 (the SIS Act). The Queensland Local Government Superannuation Board acts as trustee of the scheme under the Local Government Act (Qld). The Board holds a Responsible Superannuation Entity (RSE) Licence under SIS (RSE Licence number L0000178).
From 1 July 2011, LGsuper and City Super merged to become one fund for all of local government in Queensland. The combined fund operates under the LGsuper name and all members are covered under amended provisions of the Local Goverment Act (Qld).
